How to get a job in retail

If you are looking for work and would like to work in the retail industry then you may want to start applying now as towards the end of summer many retailers start to employ more people getting ready for the run-up to Christmas.

Some retailers will only take in CV’s and application forms from people when they have a specific job opening but others will be happy to take a copy and keep it on file should anything come up. Have a good amount of copies of your CV printed out and pop along to your nearest shopping centre. Make a list of retailers that you would like to work for and drop in a CV. If possible, try and ensure that the CV gets to the right person or ask for an email address that you could send it to, if the person is not available. Once you have left your CV with the retailers, it is worth chasing it up in a week or so to check that it has been received and to see if they have anything coming up that you may be considered for.
