Returning to college or university

If you decided not to carry on with your education after your GCSE’s or A Levels then you may consider returning at a later date.

Returning to education is possible but you may find it a little more difficult as you get older, simply because you often have more responsibilities. Some people chose to take a year out of studies to work to earn money or to go travelling. This can be the much needed break for some people and can then motivate them, ready to go back in to education.

If you have not gained GCSE’s or A Levels then you may need to do a course to allow you to get these first before starting the course you want to go on. If you are worried about going back in to education as it has been a while, you may oft to do an access course. Doing this course will often give you a better chance of being accepted for another course afterwards. If you have young children at home, you may be entitled to help with child care costs and other costs of living. You may also be given a student loan which will not need to be paid back until you are earning over a certain amount.
